At the request of my daughter, I designed and made a baby blanket for her friend who wanted the baby’s initials incorporated in the pattern. This then lead to me writing up and publishing the Hearts Baby Blanket pattern which included my design for the upper case alphabet. I then decided to come up with a design for the lower case alphabet and I am pleased to offer the charts for both alphabets here: Alphabet – Upper and Lower Case
The pattern for this Hearts Baby Blanket can be found in my Etsy and Ravelry on line shops, see side bar to the right of this post.
On checking my Ravelry patterns – http://www.ravelry.com/designers/sylvia-leake – I realised I’d managed to design, knit, test knit, photograph, write up and publish 15 new knitting patterns last year! Starting with ‘A Badger Blanket’ at the beginning of the year, which was actually designed and made at the end of 2016. So here’s the round up:
A Badger Blanket
Woolly Snowflakes Hat
Woolly Snowflakes Cowl
Woolly Snowflakes Hat and Woolly Snowflakes Cowl patterns (both Toddler to Adult sizes)
Love Cats on a Hat
Prowling Cats Cowl
Floral Flutters Cowl
Laurel Baby Booties
Laurel Baby Hat
Laurel Baby Booties and Laurel Baby Hat
Snugly Sheep Baby Blanket and Snugly Sheep Cushion Cover
Woolly Sheep Mittens
Woolly Sheep Cowl and Woolly Sheep Mittens
Reindeer Baby Hat (to match my Reindeer Booties pattern designed in 2012!)
Winter Robin Hat (Baby to Adult sizes)
Textured Diamonds Cowl
I’ve finally finished a textured, sheep themed baby blanket and a matching cushion cover. This design took quite a few charts and swatches before I was happy with the moss/seed stitch sheep motifs.
I got there in the end and have designed, knitted, photographed and written instructions, the knitting patterns are finally up for sale.
To celebrate I am offering them at half price on Ravelry for one week, finishing at midnight (GMT) on Sunday, 10th September, 2017.
I didn’t find the photography easy, the cream and silver grey yarns reacted differently to the light, so choosing and editing took forever and I’m still not 100% happy! However, I hope they provide the knitter with a good idea of how the final piece will look!
Until next time, happy knitting!
The Knitter has focussed her attention on all things Christmassy. As a result of this a pair of woolly snowman booties have appeared. I am certain that they will make good company this Christmas, however, I am upset that The Knitter could not provide me with a cat-sized version, my paws are getting a bit nippy…
You can purchase your copy of the pattern on any of The Knitters websites…Happy Knitting!
Nothing is safe from Basil!
Basil seems fairly shocked at my latest creation, unless he is trying to replicate the expression of the owl, I’ll never know. They do look quite alike though, don’t they?
I think I look much more handsome than “The Knitter’s” creation
- The hat and bootie set!
I want some peace!
The clicking sound of knitting needles awoke me from my slumber. I curiously poked my head out of my lastest sleeping place and discovered that “the knitter in the house” was STILL working on the kitten booties. When will they be finished? I want a friend to keep me company!
