Looking back at 2017

On checking my Ravelry patterns – http://www.ravelry.com/designers/sylvia-leake –  I realised I’d managed to design, knit, test knit, photograph, write up and publish 15 new knitting patterns last year!  Starting with ‘A Badger Blanket’ at the beginning of the year, which was actually designed and made at the end of 2016.  So here’s the round up:

Woolly Sheep Cowl and Woolly Sheep Mittens

P1040969ad

Reindeer Baby Hat (to match my Reindeer Booties pattern designed in 2012!)

P1040896ado

Winter Robin Hat (Baby to Adult sizes)

Textured Diamonds Cowl

Snugly Sheep

I’ve finally finished a textured, sheep themed baby blanket and a matching cushion cover.  This design took quite a few charts and swatches before I was happy with the moss/seed stitch sheep motifs.

I got there in the end and have designed, knitted, photographed and written instructions, the knitting patterns are finally up for sale.

To celebrate I am offering them at half price on Ravelry for one week, finishing at midnight (GMT) on Sunday, 10th September, 2017.

I didn’t find the photography easy, the cream and silver grey yarns reacted differently to the light, so choosing and editing took forever and I’m still not 100% happy!  However, I hope they provide the knitter with a good idea of how the final piece will look!

Until next time, happy knitting! IMG_3798

Basil On: A Foxy Pillow

Basil On: A Foxy Pillow

“So The Knitter is on a roll once again and has created A Foxy Pillow, as she calls it. I can’t say that I am exactly excited about it, it’s the same size as me! I did my best to pay as little attention to it as possible as I turned my head away and feigned disinterest. Just as long as it knows who is boss around here, which is me, of course. I believe that I make much better company anyway and a much better pet. I have bundles more charm coupled with dashing good-looks, well I’m almost impossible to resist! Maybe I am being too harsh on the fox, it is only a pillow after all.”
